We have a new BLOG!
2009 IS OVER!!! What a year! A lot of things happened in 2009, some good things and some bad things. It is certainly a year none of us are going to forget. I am not sure about anyone else but I am glad it is almost over and that 2010 is right around the corner. I honestly can not wait! In this news letter we are going to recap 2009 and look to the future in 2010. So let’s take a look at 2009.
2009 was a horrible year for most American Auto Makers. Ford however is still standing firm and here at the end of the year is posting some profit. While GM still struggles with many aspects of their business and Chrysler Dodge Fiat struggle to find an identity and thus a role in the American auto market, Ford has come out with the car of the year in the 2009 Ford Fusion. Ford innovated some of the best hybrid technology and brought to market one of the most revolutionizing car technologies to date in Sync. So in short, Ford is a head of the game and poised to take the American market from GM and Chrydogfiat or whatever we’re supposed to call them.
Automotive accessorizing and styling has taken a pretty big blow in 2009 as well. There was a big downturn with this trend at the new car dealer. Fewer people buying cars means fewer people buying upgrades and options for their vehicle that the dealer ordinarily provides ie. alarms, window tint, etc. Also the sale of customized pre-loaded vehicles was down as a result. Instead of lifting a truck and custom painting a few cars to see them sell in days it has taken months for folks to buy these once highly sought after customized vehicles. Most Popular in 2009 for the customers of Auto Styling here at Berge Ford was Mustang performance parts, window tint and alarms. All which were sold mostly as cash and not financed into car deals. That alone speaks for itself as to the change in the financial climate in 2009.
In 2010 dealers have to think out of the box to try and reinvent how to do business in order to keep up with this ever changing climate. I believe the reinvention of the car deal is coming and soon. The entire automotive industry is realizing the power of social networking, media and advertising. YouTube.com is used to display vehicle inventory and featured sale units. Sale ads are also ran on YouTube for various types of vehicles and parts. Craigslist, Ebay - you name it and someone is selling a car or accessory for a car using some form of social networking website. It will continue to change as more people browse online from home, work or on their mobile devices in search of content specific to their interests and needs. This, I believe, is the future of the modern car deal. Point your browser to your favorite YouTube Video, click a link to a cool car you like. Open a live chat window with the dealer and negotiate a deal in real time to pick up the vehicle equipped exactly the way you want it that day. The days of dealers getting droves of people walking on the lots to kick tires and check out inventory are over. We are all too busy Facebooking, Tweeting, Tumbling and Blogging to care, unless of coarse we can click a link and take a quick look and maybe open a chat window and talk to someone.
2009 is over and so is the decade; but it was the start of online social networking and media. However, we have a bright future in 2010 and the decade to come. With aftermarket and OEM products being innovated to improve automotive customer’s convenience, comfort and overall experience there will be a lot to talk about this next year. We will be doing most of our talking right on our website, YouTube and WordPress.Com so stop by and check out all the new articles, videos, cars and trucks at http://www.youtube.com/AutoStylingBergeFord
